About Len…<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Len Handler is a composer, songwriter and classical guitarist. As a performer, Len was stage guitarist for the original Broadway production of the musical Man of LaMancha<\/em>, and has performed as guitar soloist with the New York City Ballet<\/em>, New York Shakespeare<\/em> Festival,<\/em> and NBC\u2019s Mike Douglass Show<\/em> and Midday Live<\/em>.\u00a0 Len has been guitar accompanist for Lannie Kazan, Howard Keel, and Jerome Hines, as well as guitar soloist in productions with Charles Durning, Barbara Barrie, Ralph Waite and Jose Ferrer.\u00a0 A recent Emmy nomination for Best Original Song (\u201cFool\u2019s Gold\u201d) along with featured songs on network television dramas Guiding Light<\/em>, Another World<\/em>, and As The World<\/em> Turns<\/em>, have kept Len busy writing. Len\u2019s song \u201cThe Last Day of Forever\u201d was recently featured in the film Sheeba<\/em>, starring Ed Asner and Judge Reinhold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the production end, Len has served as executive producer on albums by Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Carl Perkins, Kansas, BB King, Steve Earle, and many more. Until his retirement in 2012, Len served as Director of Music for Reader\u2019s Digest Association. He lives in Connecticut with his wife Debbie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, Len is a passionate fly-tier and angler, hunting for trout on the Upper Delaware River, Salmon in Nova Scotia, and closer to home, banging the beaches of L.I. Sound for Stripers and Blues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How do you seamlessly blend music and fishing into a cohesive viewer experience? What does the obsessive pursuit of trout and salmon have to do with choral music, orchestra and singer-songwriters? In my case, they all happen to be my passion and a huge part of my day. I’ve tied flies and fished for as long as I’ve loved and played music, so the combination is second nature to me.
