Sometimes We Dance Alone

I co-wrote this with the wonderful George Wurzbach. We’ve written a lot of “out” songs together – just add this to the stack. The lovely vocal is by Nashville/Christian artist Rachel Robinson (she has a wonderful group with her two sisters called “Three Lanes Crossing.”

Red Apple Rest

THE place to stop on the way up to the Catskills from 1930-1960;

Before construction of the Quickway (RT17B) and the Thruway, the ride on local RT 17 was longer and slower. Everyone on their way up to Catskill destinations stopped here for a pit-stop or a snack. It was a traveller’s icon.

East Branch of Delaware River

We love to see these beauties along the streamside, and even more so on the water. In the Delaware, they are trout candy, and disappear in showy splashes and flushes.

Pascack Brook

Silver Bridge, Looking downstream;

The river (brook) of my childhood. There were summers I spent every day hunting trout, I can still recite the pools/holes for the three-mile stretch I haunted: The Manor; The Brushpile; The Willows: Silver Bridge; Keonig’s Run; Koenig’s Hole, The Trainbridge; The Banana Hole; The Bend; Fairview Ave Hole; Bedspring Pool; Elks Run; Becker’s Pool; MsDevitts Pool (Brookside Park); Tommy’s Hole.

Lordville: The Old Bridge and Train Station

Cool to think that you could take a train from Grand Central and hop off at the Lordville riff four hours later.! Below is a Polaroid I took of the Lordville Bridge around 1967. I still love the riff dearly, although it’s more of a hassle to access it these days by foot.

Another view of the Lordville train station. (Taken around 1900)
