Ben Rinker and I hudled under the knotweed on a June morning in a surprise downpour. This is one of my favorite riffs on the East Branch. It’s a big-fish magnate, ‘bows and browns alike. It also houses the last working eel-weir on the river. Ray’s smokehouse offers some of the best smoked eel anywhere.
